The Luanda Medical Center (LMC) has been designed specifically to provide high quality health care treatment and diagnostic services for the Luanda, Angola community. The clinic will serve both the expatriate community of the Luanda area as well as Angolan nationals who can afford international quality health services. It is anticipated that the LMC will have a positive social impact on Angola through the following means:
• Improve the standard of healthcare available in country through Joint Commission International accredited facility.
• Through medical training programs staffed and implemented by developed world certified, experts, the clinic will increase the level of competency within Luanda and over time in clinics throughout the country.
• Building medical diagnostic capacity in the country through the operation of state-of-the-art MRI, CAT scan, digital x-ray and similar equipment that also engages medical experts throughout the world via telemedicine techniques.
Though the LMC’s initial strategy is to establish a polyclinic outpatient center in Luanda, it also plans to create a multi-disciplinary, 250-bed, surgical-diagnostic hospital in Luanda once the LMC becomes operationally successful. The goal of the LMC and the future hospital facility is to serve not only the Luanda population and catchment area, but all parts of Angola.
